Frequently Asked Questions

How to calculate fuel cost for a trip?▼
Fuel cost = (Distance ÷ Mileage) × Fuel Price. For example, a 300 km trip in a car with 15 km/l mileage at ₹95/litre petrol costs (300÷15) × 95 = ₹1,900.
What is the average mileage of cars in India?▼
Hatchbacks: 16-20 km/l, Sedans: 14-18 km/l, SUVs: 10-14 km/l (petrol). Diesel variants typically get 20-30% better mileage. Bikes average 40-55 km/l.
How much CO2 does my trip produce?▼
Petrol produces 2.31 kg CO2 per litre burned, diesel produces 2.68 kg. A 300 km trip in a car (15 km/l) burns 20 litres = 46 kg CO2.
Is diesel cheaper per km than petrol?▼
Usually yes, because diesel engines have better mileage AND diesel costs less per litre. A diesel SUV doing 16 km/l at ₹88/L costs ₹5.50/km vs petrol SUV at 12 km/l for ₹8.50/km.
